I am a scholar of art, history and culture, with a focus on the modern era. I specialize in the art and cultural history of modern Germany in a European and global context. I have been trained as an economic historian (B.Sc., London School of Economics) and as an art historian (M.A., Courtauld Institute of Art; M.A., The University of Chicago). In 2019, I obtained my Ph.D. from the The University of Chicago with a dissertation on the German art nouveau periodcal “Pan“.
I am based in Germany, where I am also active as a writer, translator, and occasionally as a curator. I speak German, English, and French at a native level.
I am currently a Research Associate at the Provenance Lab at Leuphana University Lüneburg, investigating the potential of computational methods for the future of provenance.
